COMMEND CONSERVANCY, DON'T CRITICIZE ITS WORK.(MAIN)

A Times Union article April 27 reported a conflict between The Nature Conservancy/Department of Environmental Conservation duo and a small group of dissidents who criticized their action to reduce abundance of deer in the Conservancy's Bear Swamp preserve using damage-control permit hunting.

In it one of the protesters said he ``has cherished the swamp for more than 30 years. He sees no significant damage to the plants . . .''

That may be his honest interpretation of whatever time spent in Bear Swamp.
